ECHO PLAYBACK THEATRE
Through Playback Theatre people can come closer, learn to express themselves, communicate, externalize their feelings and of course listen respectfully to the stories of other people.
Playback Theatre constitutes a forum for social dialogue, reinforcement of social membership and cohesion through mutual understanding and support, providing solutions to problems, discharging negative emotions, enhancing group dynamics and improving working relations while, at the same time, it bridges differences among people and promotes art and civilization.
Playback Theatre is used in a variety of social and educational structures (Centres for Addictions and Rehabilitation, Centres for the Support of Young People, Socially Vulnerable Groups, Refugees, Immigrants, Volunteers, Schools, Universities, Hospitals, Orphanages, Nursing Homes, Prisons and so on), in the field of Science and Art and in every field of human life, taking the form of a performance or a training/experiential workshop.
On the top of that, Echo Playback Theatre is involved in european Erasmus+ KA1-KA2 programmes, scientific conferences and meetings, festivals, forums, book presentations etc.
Echo Playback Theatre is a greek Social Cooperative Enterprise (established 2015) that implements and promotes an improvisational interactive form of theatre called Playback Theatre in which viewers themselves turn out to be the protagonists.
The actors portray spontaneously some of the audience stories on the stage. They first listen to a story and then, they depict the story based on approriate techniques, while improvised music is played along.
The 7 members of the group “Echo” are trained and certified for this kind of acting.
Playback Theatre addresses to people of all ages, social and educational backgrounds. Thus youth can also benefit, for example young people can participate in performances and attend workshops.
